FAQs of Leeb Hardness Tester:

Q: How does the Leeb Hardness Tester function?

A: The tester utilizes the Leeb rebound principle, where an impact device strikes the test surface, and the rebound velocity is measured to determine the materials hardness. A microprocessor processes the data, displaying accurate results on the LCD screen.

Q: What is the process for testing a metal sample with this device?

A: To test, ensure the sample meets minimum thickness (3 mm) and weight (2 kg) requirements. Place the impact device perpendicular to the test surface, trigger the measurement, and observe the result on the digital display. Data can be stored or transferred via USB/RS232.

Q: When should different impact device types (C, D+, G, DC, DL) be used?

A: Different impact devices are chosen based on material type and application. While Type D is standard for general purposes, other devices accommodate softer, harder, or uniquely shaped materials. Consult the user manual to select the correct device for optimal measurement accuracy.

Q: Where can the Leeb Hardness Tester be effectively operated?

A: Thanks to its portable design, the tester is ideal for both field and laboratory environments. It can be used on-site for large assets or components, as well as in manufacturing plants, workshops, and quality control labs.

Q: What are the main benefits of using this portable hardness tester?

A: Key benefits include fast, non-destructive testing of metals, high accuracy, data storage for up to 600 results, and straightforward data transfer. Its portability and ease of use significantly improve productivity and documentation for quality assurance teams.

Q: How is power supplied to the Leeb Hardness Tester during operation?

A: The tester runs on two AA batteries for flexible, cordless operation or can be powered using a USB/DC adapter, ensuring reliable use in different environments and extended testing sessions.
